2017 Faculty Advisers

For the 2016-2017 school year, BASIS Ahwatukee seniors are lucky to have the guidance of the following faculty advisers:

Raechl Kynor, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Writing from Long Island University and a Master of Education degree from Southern Methodist University, teaches Honors Literature, AP Literature and Composition, and Capstone/Post-AP Literature at BASIS Ahwatukee.

Rachna Nath graduated with a Master in Biology from Guwahati University in India and is currently pursuing another graduate degree at Arizona State University in developmental genetics. She has taught at community colleges around the Valley for over 10 years and currently teaches 6th- and 7th-grade Biology as well as a Capstone Microbiology course at BASIS Ahwatukee.

Natalie Wilcoxen, a graduate of Arizona State University and Queen's University Belfast, where she studied history and religion, teaches World History 8 and AP World History at BASIS Ahwatukee.

Shawn Whaley has a PhD in Physics from Arizona State University, where he studied semiconductor material surface interactions, about which he has published papers on and holds a patent. He teaches Grade 7 Physics, AP Physics 1, and AP Physics 2.
